25 Muay Thai Gyms In Singapore To Try In 2025

Whether you’re trying to get fit (hello, 2025 resolutions) or you’re looking for a new challenge, Muay Thai or kickboxing is a great sport to pick up as it offers multiple health and mental benefits. Not sure where to begin? Here is our guide to the best Muay Thai gyms in Singapore for an authentic experience.

1. Nine Blades Muay Thai Gym

Nine Blades Muay Thai Gym is relatively new — the space was only set up in 2023 — but head coach Angus is no stranger in the scene, as he has been actively competing in Muay Thai and boxing for many years leading up to the launch of his gym.

Conveniently located in the CBD, a few steps from Raffles Place MRT Exit F, this rooftop gym is popular amongst students and office workers. The space is small and cosy, but classes pack a punch: Nine Blades promises a "pure" Muay Thai experience, with classes stretching up to 1.5 hours per session (sometimes longer), similar to what you'd get in Thailand.

Watch Angus' fight breakdown here!

Come here if you're a beginner, an aspiring fighter, or an enthusiast who loves to spar/clinch.

3. Hilltop Academy

Mention Hilltop to any Muay Thai enthusiast and chances are they’ll know the gym as one of the oldest authentic Muay Thai gyms in Singapore. Founded by Master Johnnie, also affectionately known by his students as Shifu, Hilltop Academy has been around since 1996. A convenient 10-minute from the MRT, the gym is located along a busy one-way street in the vibrant Farrer Park locale, boasting multiple nearby supper spots for post-training fuel.

The beginner-friendly training at Hilltop is old-school with a focus on technique, alternating with a mix of cardio and muscle-specific exercises to improve strength and endurance. The warm-up constitutes three rounds of skipping and shadow boxing; thereafter it’s a series of bagwork and a three-minute padwork with a trainer. Each session ends with conditioning exercises like sit-ups. The ring is then open for optional sparring.

It can be pretty intimidating if you’re entering a Muay Thai gym for the first time. That’s not the case at Hilltop, though. Their family-centric vibes, approachable trainers, and friendly members set them apart from many gyms in Singapore.
